The best way to help your child to make good progress in class is to mark their Bond or CGP books weekly and to highlight any issues to us. By marking at home, you free up our staff and lesson time so that we can focus on teaching.
If you feel confident in doing so, we encourage you to review your child's mistakes in the book to see if they can be corrected at home. Again, this frees up our lesson time to work on other areas. If you do not feel confident in explaining a question to your child, that is absolutely fine and we can do that in the lesson. What would still be helpful is if you could see whether your child is able to correct themselves so that we know not to discuss any careless mistakes.
Sometimes, working with a parent can be overwhelming for children and can even hinder progress, particularly if their parents use a different method from the one we've used in class. In these cases, we actually advise that parents don't attempt to cover any additional topics at home, unless we have specifically asked them to.
If you would really like to do additional work at home, please see the following blogpost on how best to do so - https://kinlearning.com/2018/01/12/how-to-do-extra-work-at-home/.
